Why Ultra-Low NOx Class 6 Boilers are the Smart Choice for Your West Sussex Home

Upgrade to Ultra-Low NOx Class 6 Boilers in Horsham & Adur Districts.

Hi, I'm Andrew Tyler, and I'm a gas engineer here at Prime Boiler Care in Horsham.

I've been fitting boilers across West Sussex for years, covering areas like Horsham, Southwater, Storrington, Billingshurst, Steyning, Henfield, Pulborough, and down to the coast in Shoreham-by-Sea, Lancing, Southwick, and Sompting.

I want to talk about something crucial for our environment and our health: Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) emissions from your natural gas boiler.

Since September 26th, 2018, all new natural gas boilers have been required to meet a maximum NOx emission level of 56mg/kWh.

But what does that actually mean for your home in West Sussex?

Understanding NOx: Why Cleaner Emissions Matter

NOx is a general term for Nitrogen Dioxide and Nitric Oxide gases released as a byproduct of combustion—it's what comes out of your boiler flue.

The lower the reading in mg per kWh, the cleaner the emissions, and the less pollution we're contributing to the local air quality around Horsham and the Adur District.

High levels of NOx are a major problem.

They react in the atmosphere to form smog and acid rain, and they're central to the creation of fine particulate matter (PM) and ground-level ozone.

These pollutants are directly associated with significant health risks.

For homeowners in bustling areas like Shoreham-by-Sea or rural spots like Billingshurst, cleaner air is something we should all strive for.

Why I Recommend Ultra-Low NOx Class 6 Boilers

The new standard requires a boiler to meet at least a NOx Class 5 level.

However, if you are looking to install a new, reliable, and highly efficient gas boiler in your home, why stop at the bare minimum?

I always urge my customers to choose a boiler that achieves NOx Class 6.

This is considered Ultra-Low NOx.

By installing a Class 6 boiler in Lancing or replacing your old boiler with a Class 6 unit in Steyning, you are doing the absolute best you can for our air quality and the long-term health of our community.

Personally, I would only fit a Class 6 boiler in my own home, and I recommend the same to all my family and friends.

While the selection of NOx Class 6 condensing boilers might be a little smaller right now, the more homeowners in Pulborough and Henfield demand these cleaner options, the faster manufacturers will respond.

You’re voting for cleaner air with your purchase.

The best news is that these ultra-clean boilers are not more expensive than the Class 5 alternatives.

When you factor in the high performance, energy efficiency, and quality long-term warranty, you are getting incredible value.
