The Gas Safe Register Safety Alert 035: Intergas Boilers Horsham

Intergas Boiler Update: Important Information for my customers with Intergas boilers, I understand that recent news regarding Intergas boilers might cause some concern for homeowners.

However, this blog post aims to clarify the situation and put your mind at ease. The Gas Safe Register issued Safety Alert 035 concerning a potential issue during the installation of certain Intergas boilers.

This alert is specifically focused on boilers that haven't been installed yet. Here's a breakdown of the situation:

Issue: During transportation, the gas valve connections on a limited number of uninstalled Intergas boilers might become loose, potentially leading to a gas escape during installation.

Impact: This applies only to uninstalled boilers. If you already have an Intergas boiler that I installed and is functioning properly, there's no need for immediate concern.

What's being done: Intergas Heating has already implemented stricter inspections at their factory to ensure all new boilers are free from this potential issue.

Merchants and distributors holding potentially affected boilers will be notified.

Crucially, qualified engineers installing gas boilers always check gas valve connections as part of the commissioning process. This ensures any looseness is identified and addressed before the boiler becomes operational.

For your peace of mind: If you're having a new Intergas boiler installed, ensure you use a Gas Safe registered engineer. These engineers are qualified to identify and rectify any potential issues during commissioning.

If you have any concerns about your existing Intergas boiler, you can always contact me first via the contact page or the Intergas Technical & Service Department by calling 01527 888000 or emailing service@intergasheating.co.uk

In summary, this safety alert is a proactive measure to ensure the safe installation of future Intergas boilers. If you have an existing boiler and it's functioning properly, there's no need to worry.
