New maximum NOx emissions enforced on the 26th of September 2018 September 06, 2018 Nitrogen Oxide Emissions (NOx) the new emissions level of 56mg/kWh will be enforced for all natural gas boilers from the 26th of September 2018.So what is NOx? It is the Nitrogen Dioxide and Nitric Oxide gases that are within the boiler's emissions, these are the products of combustion that come out of the boiler flue. so the fumes that come out the chimney.The lower amount of NOx in mg per kWh, the cleaner the emissions, meaning the cleaner the air will hopefully be around your home, meaning less Pollution.NOx gases react to form Smog and Acid Raid, they are central to the formation of fine particles (PM) and ground-level Ozone, both of which are associated with health risks.So it really is in the best interest for everyone to lower the NOx in all emissions. There are plenty of health benefits to cleaner air, I feel that I need not indulge here, as this is common knowledge.The main point is that there are different classifications of NOx in the form of Class levels that each boiler can achieve. Level 5 is going to be the new standard, but why stop there if you have the option to go further? I highly recommend to my customers to consider a new boiler that has NOx Class 6, this is considered Ultra-Low NOx, and you will really be doing the best you can for our air quality and our children's health, I'm personally only interested in fitting NOx 6 in my own home, and I'm constantly urging all my friends and family to consider only fitting these Ultra-Low Class 6 boilers.
