Boiler Breakdown Blues Horsham

Boiler Breakdown Blues: What to Do When Your Boiler Bites the Dust.

So, your boiler's gone kaput. You're probably not happy about it, and you're probably wondering what to do next.

Don't worry, you're not alone, and I'm here to help. First things first, don't panic.

A broken boiler is a pain, but it's a common problem with a simple solution. The most important thing is to find a qualified engineer to get things up and running again. That's where I come in. I'm Andrew Tyler, a Gas Safe registered engineer serving Horsham. With 25 years of experience fixing boilers, I know what I'm doing. My priority is always getting your boiler working properly again. I'll never try to sell you a new boiler unless it's necessary.

Here are some tips in the meantime:

Turn your boiler off and on again at the mains.

Check your boiler's manual for troubleshooting advice, and take note of any fault codes on the boiler’s display.

Reset your boiler if it has a reset button.

Check your boiler/system pressure. It should be between 1 and 1.5 bar.

Make sure that your room thermostat is calling for heat and that your timer is turned on.

Check that you have a gas and electricity supply to the boiler.

Check the fuse in the fuse box, and the 3-amp fuse in the fused spur.

Check that your boiler thermostat isn't set too high or too low, most boilers operate efficiently between 60 and 80 degrees Celsius.

If you have a domestic hot water storage cylinder, check that its thermostat is set to around 60 degrees Celsius.
